When traveling to Malmö, Sweden

Please don’t forget to bring your passport, even though you are an EU citizen, since there are passport control at the borders to Sweden. Without a valid passport you may not be able to enter!

Arriving by airplane

Malmö is just 20 minutes from Scandinavia’s largest airport, Copenhagen Airport. From there you go by train, departures every 20 minutes, from the platform underneath the airport to Malmö.

If you arrive at Malmö Airport there are buses that run continuously from the airport, stopping at numerous points in central Malmö.

Traveling by train

If you go by train you may travel to Copenhagen City Central (Hovedbangården), and from there you switch train to Malmö.

Traveling by car/bus

If you are traveling by car or bus from the west you go by the Öresund Bridge from Denmark to Malmö.

By boat

From Germany

The nearest ferries arrives from Travemünde directly to Malmo.

There are also ferries from Sassnitz, Rostock, as well as from Travemünde, which arrives to Trelleborg, 30 km south of Malmo. From there you drive or take connecting busses or train and you will get to the heart of Malmo in half an hour.

From Poland

If you go by boat from Swinoujscie in Poland you will arrive to Ystad, 56 km south-east and 1 hour away. Buses and trains are available for the continuous journey to Malmo.

Also from Poland there are ferries arriving from Gdansk to Karlskrona, in the north-east. It will take about two and a half hour to travel to Malmo from there with train or car.
